Sure. Type "C-u RET" on the group when in the Groups buffer or "C-u M-g"
when in the group's summary buffer.
You can also limit the number of old articles to be retrieved by
inserting a number after the C-u, e.g. "C-u 1000 M-g" would retrieve the
latest 1000 articles of the current group.
