I did delete the overview file, but it didn't help.
I solved the problem, by renaming the group, exiting gnus, starting,
exiting again, and renaming the folder to it's original name. After
that exercise, everything worked as expected. I guess the problem was
indeed with one of the configuration files, but it was not the
overview, or cache file.
