There is the %C option in `gnus-group-line-format' which displays the
comment element from the group parameters.

Well, you can use gnus-topic-mode.  Which allows you to give
arbitrarily grouped groups descriptive (sub)headings.  And you
can even put the same group under more than one topic.  But I
suppose that's not quite the same as what you want.
