no, that's not what I said ;). I said that the *Group* buffer disappears
if I execute that given sequence with the constraint that $DISPLAY
changes. I don't point directly on new-frame ;). By disappear I mean
that the buffer isn't in the (refreshed) buffer list anymore. I can't
jump to that buffer anymore. 

I can understand your objection, I too don't understand what's 
going on here. I use the original Debian package of Emacs. Maybe I
should compile Emacs from scratch for test?
