Hi!

Configuration:
M$ Win XP Pro
Emacs 21.3.1
Gnus 5.10.6

I've started using Gnus to read and send mail, but I get a problem.
All mail I send seems to be put in a queue, and never leaves for
the server no matter what I do.

My .emacs has the following:

(load-library "smtpmail") (setq smtpmail-default-smtp-server
"smtp.hermes.cam.ac.uk") (setq smtpmail-local-domain nil) (setq
send-mail-function 'smtpmail-send-it)

(load-library "message") (setq message-send-mail-function
'smtpmail-send-it)

When I try to send a mail using the standard Emacs non-Gnus method,
that is (I guess), via SMTP, that works fine. But sending from Gnus
doesn't seem to work.

Sorry about such a low-level question, but my googling didn't return
much that was useful.
