A wide-reply currently does not include the from: header if the
reply-to: header is different. What does a person do if they really
want to reply to the from: of the article.

is there a way to do what pine does-->

Provide an alternative to S W which includes *both* from: and
reply-to:'s.

(pine does it slightly differently---it asks you a y-or-n-p whether to
ignore reply-to header, but IMHO, the user is looking for a "real
wide" reply when they do a wide-reply---so one should include both :)

(i think i read in the manual that one can set a group-parameter that
will always ignore reply-to for within that group, but IMHO, this
option should be available on a per-mail basis. )

Does `S V' do it? I have no idea. It's called `very wide', but I
don't know what's `very' about it. You tell me :-)

No (and I couldn't find any predefined functionality for doing this):

,----[ original message ]
| From: from@some-where.invalid
| To: to@some-where.invalid
| Cc: cc@some-where.invalid
| Reply-To: reply-to@some-where.invalid
`----

,----[ S V ]
| To: reply-to@some-where.invalid
| Cc: to@some-where.invalid, cc@some-where.invalid
`----

When you process mark multiple articles `S V' (and `S v') will send
the message to _all_ involved persons (From or Reply-To, Cc, To) in
_all_ marked articles. With `S V', all messages are quoted. It's
similar, but not the same as `F' (with process marked articles).
Unlike `F', `S V' puts the MID's (and References) from *all* messages
into the new References header (feature or bug?).

`S W' only cites all marked articles, but the recipients are taken
only from the first marked article.

See <info://gnus/Summary+Mail+Commands>. BTW, there's a typo in this
node:

and `Cc' headers in all the process/prefixed articles. This
      command uses the process/prefix convention.

-`S W'
+`S V'
Mail a very wide reply to the current article and include the
      original message (`gnus-summary-wide-reply-with-original'). This
      command uses the process/prefix convention.

Shouldn't `F' be mentioned in the node `Summary Mail Commands' too
(it's only mentioned in `Summary Post Commands')?

Bye, Reiner.
