Maybe there is a newline inserted within the headers. Are you sure that Gnus does it wrong and not the MTA or other software? Or maybe a misconfiguration, e.g. `message-send-hook' and `message-send-mail-hook' (I vaguely remember that someone inserted an X-Face with a superfluous newline). Anyhow, I'd recommend to upgrade to Gnus 5.10.6. BTW, if you're using a stock Emacs 21.3 from gnu.org [1], you should probably also upgrade to 21.4 which fixes a security problem with the movemail program. Bye, Reiner.
