Whenever I get a spam email that has foreign characters and try to show it in the Summary buffer then X crashes and takes everything down with it. The Xorg.0.log says Fatal server error: Caught signal 11. Server aborting and there are no more hints. Does anyone know how I can make Gnus stop trying to display foreign characters? It appears that this is a known bug with xorg. But, since I don't know when they are going to fix it Im looking for a workaround. Is there any way to tell gnus not to make-font-instance for certain (foreign) fonts? Probably. But this is XEmacs specific (I don't use XEmacs). Maybe someone in comp.emacs.xemacs or on xemacs-beta knows.
