One of the Murphy's laws sais: when nothing is working, please read the manual. So in the manual it sais that XML is working only with (pdf)etex. So you were right. I did not use pdfetex. But after downloading and unzipping pdfetex, everything is ok. I think is quite nice: I can make any program to exports a report into XML and typeset that report with pdfetex with some environment!!!
