How can it happen that an eps figure is not found by Context while it
IS found by kpathsea? (This concerns Taco's s2p system, so I am not
sure that it is a Context problem). The message I get is `Figuur

\setupexternalfigures
  [directory={a,b,c,d},
   location={local,global}]  % of =local of =global

[sorry, dutch; you can trace the search by setting the variable
\traceexternalfigurestrue]

I always use png figures, they work fine. Maybe you can convert it to png?
And for pdf output ps doesn't work anyway.

If the figure is not in your current directory, you might want to use:

\stelexternefigurenin
	[gebied=/usr/home/siep/plaatjes]

with gebied whatever directory you want to search.

context doesn't use kpathsea (the default search mechanisms) I think.

Groetjes,

Berend. (-:

I found such a setting in cont-sys.tex. I adapted it to my own
directory layout and now the file is found.
