As you noted, the ftp-site www.dow.wau.nl (or better: its system manager) 
had some problems. Fortunately I had the luxury to change to another:

ftp.wau.nl

where you can find a daily mirror of ds035.xs4all.nl
in /pub/pragma

You can reach it with anonymous login.
