There's nothing other left to tell to the people as > "RTFM". well, that is only partially true. My experience is that you have to have a good overview about context in order to know what can be done. And, compared to latex, there is a different kind of thinking: compare redefining the layout of sections in context and latex. So it would be nice to tell the people "these things can be done in context easily and this is the way it is accomplished". I don't think it is necessary to explain the exact details. Perhaps you can have a look at http://levana.de/context to see what I mean. I once had a context presentation at a local linux user group (and a local TeX group) and just showed them some exaples. > After a longer abstinence I just compiled the latest pdfTeX, installed > the latest ConTeXt and had a look at the docs - and it's everything > there. All I could tell to beginners is "read the docs, they're perfect". well, a beginner will not know that it is good to use a perl script to start TeX. And tetex is not really prepared to do this out of the box. > Should I really present only a translation? > (Patrick, what do you think?) No, "just" an overview. I think you did a nice job in Rosenheim at the TeX conference, where you did not go into detail too much but presented a good overview about the problems of publishing in general. That was really valuable. -- Viele Grüße, Patrick Gundlach
