I suggest you replace CheckInputFiles by sub CheckInputFiles { my ($UserSuppliedPath) = @_ ; @UserSuppliedFiles = glob $UserSuppliedPath; } and add a require File::DosGlob 'glob' somewhere. This will work on Unix systems too I assume because the shell does the expansion so DosGlob doesn't do anything.
