Hi Robert,

I’m not sure I understand your issue. At least, I’m not able to
reproduce it:

    \starttext
    \dorecurse{500}{\recurselevel\endnote{This is an endnote.} }

    \placenotes[endnote]
    \stoptext

Could you modify the sample to reproduce your issue?
