I tried to convert it to a .ps file, since I wanted to print it as an
A5 booklet, but I got only the first page. I tried to do this both by
printing to a file from acrobat reader as well as with pdf2ps.

When I print from acrobat, there is no problem, except that I can't
get an A5 booklet...

When using MSWindows, when you want ps from pdf, you should use the
export plugin. I'm not familiar with the Unix way of doing.

Does ghostscript (5.50) always produce unprintable ps files,
or it the only problem that this file cannot be converted to a
printable a5 booklet?

It the former is the problem, mail an bug report to L. Peter Deutsch,
the latter might be due to this certain PS format
(sometimes this litte tools simply don't work).

Tobias

It is not ghostscript that produced the .ps files but acrobat (by
printing to a file) or pdf2ps. They both produce a .ps file with many
pages in it, which can be viewed with ghostview (gv), but when I print
the file, either directly or from gv, I get only 1 page per
print-command: the first. Even though the print file, as seen with
lpq, is 2 Mb.
