Yes, I can of course, but I'm not certain I should.
Allowing NULL's in the source file is insane; it also
really never happens.

Hi all,
I finally found the bug that prevents VTeX from creating valid context
format files. The problem is that VTeX considers ascii NUL in an
\input-ted file to be EOF.
And for some reason, some of Hans' comments contain ascii NUL
characters. For the 11 may 99 release, there is only one file
(core-01d). Just delete the NUL-s (somewhere around line 1725) and
everything works OK.
Hans, can these NUL-s be removed?

Indeed something strange. I fear the worst because I recognize this a
one of those windows bugs where suddenly after whatever hang of the
system, files get corrupted. I cross my fingers.
