If I use something like

\setupparagraphs[Schritt][n=4,before={\blank},after={\blank}]
\setupparagraphs[Schritt][1][width=.05\textwidth,style=bold]
\setupparagraphs[Schritt][2][width=.2\textwidth]
\setupparagraphs[Schritt][3][width=.25\textwidth]
etc.
(copied from 'ms-cb-en'), I get an error message like
! Incomplete \iffalse; all text was ignored after line 6.
<inserted text> 
                \fi 

TeX (CMacTeX's pdfetex) tells, the error would be in the encoding file
or in something other that is loaded before the setup commands.
