I was referring to possibilities concerning documents split up into several files. Winedt has a rather nice feature for this: you set the main file, and winedt finds the included files, gathers information about sectioning, bib items, references etc. The document structure is displayed graphically as a tree, so you can browse it quickly. But it seems that winedt searches for specific latex commands like \input{...}, \ref, \label etc. As most things in winedt, this can be customized to search for context commands, but this will surely be rather time-consuming. If I do it some day, I will make the resulting files available, but I don't promise anything... If anybody has done it, I would be very interested. There is a summary table in the wiki at http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Text_Editors . Apart from the ones listed there is also http://code.google.com/p/textadept/ , which I believe has ConTeXt support. For what it's worth, I use GNU emacs / AUCTeX, which works well for me, though I don't really use many of the AUCTeX features. Hope this helps, Pont ___________________________________________________________________________________ If your question is of interest to others as well, please add an entry to the Wiki! maillist : ntg-context@ntg.nl / http://www.ntg.nl/mailman/listinfo/ntg-context webpage : http://www.pragma-ade.nl / http://tex.aanhet.net archive : http://foundry.supelec.fr/projects/contextrev/ wiki : http://contextgarden.net ___________________________________________________________________________________ From mboxrd@z Thu Jan 1 00:00:00 1970 X-Msuck: nntp://news.gmane.io/gmane.comp.tex.context/69343 Path: news.gmane.org!not-for-mail From: Mojca Miklavec Newsgroups: gmane.comp.tex.context Subject: Re: Editors Date: Tue, 21 Jun 2011 08:42:07 +0200 Message-ID: References: Reply-To: mailing list for ConTeXt users NNTP-Posting-Host: lo.gmane.org Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Trace: dough.gmane.org 1308638544 25135 80.91.229.12 (21 Jun 2011 06:42:24 GMT) X-Complaints-To: usenet@dough.gmane.org NNTP-Posting-Date: Tue, 21 Jun 2011 06:42:24 +0000 (UTC) To: mailing list for ConTeXt users Original-X-From: ntg-context-bounces@ntg.nl Tue Jun 21 08:42:19 2011 Return-path: Envelope-to: gctc-ntg-context-518@m.gmane.org Original-Received: from balder.ntg.nl ([195.12.62.10]) by lo.gmane.org with esmtp (Exim 4.69) (envelope-from ) id 1QYufB-0001KB-Qe for gctc-ntg-context-518@m.gmane.org; Tue, 21 Jun 2011 08:42:17 +0200 Original-Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by balder.ntg.nl (Postfix) with ESMTP id 7999ACADA5; Tue, 21 Jun 2011 08:42:16 +0200 (CEST) X-Virus-Scanned: Debian amavisd-new at balder.ntg.nl Original-Received: from balder.ntg.nl ([127.0.0.1]) by localhost (balder.ntg.nl [127.0.0.1]) (amavisd-new, port 10024) with LMTP id RXPtQf+qk1DQ; Tue, 21 Jun 2011 08:42:16 +0200 (CEST) Original-Received: from balder.ntg.nl (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by balder.ntg.nl (Postfix) with ESMTP id 21F23CADC7; Tue, 21 Jun 2011 08:42:13 +0200 (CEST) Original-Received: from localhost (localhost [127.0.0.1]) by balder.ntg.nl (Postfix) with ESMTP id 4106BCADC7 for ; Tue, 21 Jun 2011 08:42:11 +0200 (CEST) X-Virus-Scanned: Debian amavisd-new at balder.ntg.nl Original-Received: from balder.ntg.nl ([127.0.0.1]) by localhost (balder.ntg.nl [127.0.0.1]) (amavisd-new, port 10024) with LMTP id jSyRYOilrxG4 for ; Tue, 21 Jun 2011 08:42:09 +0200 (CEST) Original-Received: from filter4-til.mf.surf.net (filter4-til.mf.surf.net [194.171.167.220]) by balder.ntg.nl (Postfix) with ESMTP id 12410CADA5 for ; Tue, 21 Jun 2011 08:42:09 +0200 (CEST) Original-Received: from mail-qw0-f41.google.com (mail-qw0-f41.google.com [209.85.216.41]) by filter4-til.mf.surf.net (8.14.3/8.14.3/Debian-5+lenny1) with ESMTP id p5L6g7N4018853 for ; Tue, 21 Jun 2011 08:42:08 +0200 Original-Received: by qwa26 with SMTP id 26so2473424qwa.14 for ; Mon, 20 Jun 2011 23:42:07 -0700 (PDT) DKIM-Signature: v=1; a=rsa-sha256; c=relaxed/relaxed; d=gmail.com; s=gamma; h=domainkey-signature:mime-version:in-reply-to:references:date :message-id:subject:from:to:content-type; bh=47pknHZfGzqlQH9S+cE1qE9DexSRF7X5+/pNsq508So=; b=r/eal/O/b97GkwG9kTg8OEfewFA5wWUHksQj0dJKTvBVglVjgscJJ/AFJmyAGTMDI+ QCD2VQFV5zFZONwvCfcv3xEDbraJDrZj/9An8zCSktCWmcByPujL9xBWtgs4kfhG0Yob GZ2M0hNjs5eV+wCctHBu8UwVZ1xEjrPgIsR+0= DomainKey-Signature: a=rsa-sha1; c=nofws; d=gmail.com; s=gamma; h=mime-version:in-reply-to:references:date:message-id:subject:from:to :content-type; b=bmxQEqnLscSWsSptywzY8N80AzQbkb8UR2yKvc+ZC3R2/5+OcxDWMemCW+XPWKHaXe lolPoz/WKumf/3zMyzH1/vJwSksT5p6DREZyCxudpTO7jnwafr+G1/UhghpFBFBrKdJc c5ayb5ZG4wgnmCuoFshRLTaC62b1G0Xt/fcYQ= Original-Received: by 10.229.36.75 with SMTP id s11mr2677163qcd.176.1308638527285; Mon, 20 Jun 2011 23:42:07 -0700 (PDT) Original-Received: by 10.229.42.67 with HTTP; Mon, 20 Jun 2011 23:42:07 -0700 (PDT) In-Reply-To: X-Bayes-Prob: 0.0001 (Score 0, tokens from: @@RPTN) X-CanIt-Geo: ip=209.85.216.41; country=US; region=CA; city=Mountain View; postalcode=94043; latitude=37.4192; longitude=-122.0574; metrocode=807; areacode=650; http://maps.google.com/maps?q=37.4192,-122.0574&z=6 X-CanItPRO-Stream: uu:ntg-context@ntg.nl (inherits from uu:default, base:default) X-Canit-Stats-ID: 05EWuG8PN - 86b03b6a2026 - 20110621 X-Scanned-By: CanIt (www . roaringpenguin . com) on 194.171.167.216 X-BeenThere: ntg-context@ntg.nl X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.12 Precedence: list List-Id: mailing list for ConTeXt users List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , Original-Sender: ntg-context-bounces@ntg.nl Errors-To: ntg-context-bounces@ntg.nl Xref: news.gmane.org gmane.comp.tex.context:69343 Archived-At: On Mon, Jun 20, 2011 at 23:19, H. You can use any editor, even with LaTeX syntax highlighting. I often use VIM (but you need to be comfortable working with it) which needs some settings (:set filetype=context), else you get LaTeX highlighting. Just take a look at the table on Wiki that Pontus pointed you to. For what it's worth, I've tried Vim, Emacs, and SciTE, and eventually settled on TeXworks for maximum usefulness and friendliness. This might be different for you if you're already used to Vim or Emacs, which I wasn't. TeXworks is configured to use MkII, but there are instructions on the wiki to configure it for MkIV. For Ubuntu, stable binaries are at https://launchpad.net/~texworks/+archive/stable and development builds at https://launchpad.net/~texworks/+archive/ppa . http://www.tug.org/texworks/ has a link to openSUSE binaries too. Haven't tried any of them myself, though. It was just the same as with any other application I wanted to build from source. You need some development packages for your Linux-distro (have a look at http://code.google.com/p/texworks/ ) and then just something like "qmake" and "make".
