Hi Frans et al.
I do not know fptex (if I remember correctly you are using
fptex). But you can try to make the format (you have already
done so) and copy the metafun.mem to a directory which should
be called texmf/web2c. There will probably be a file there
called cont-nl.efmt or cont-nl.fmt. After that, you will have to
update your file database (I guess). But I have no idea how to
do this in fptex. Look it up in your documentation :-). Find a
word like 'texhash' or 'update' or 'ls-lR' and follow the
instructions.
