    Hi Taco and Hans;

sorry in case I missed something, but what is the current
status of the math module (m-math). I suspect that both of you
were quite busy with m-bib, but have you made any plans to
integrate m-math into the newer versions of ConTeXt?

    Cheers,
    Marco

Hi Marco,

Of course the math module still exists, but it fails to work with
the newer releases of context (this is because there have been major
changes in context lately and the math module is very low level:
it broke down quite seriously).

Of course there are plans to re-instate math support, but I suspect
that the math module 'as such' will vanish. For instance, most of
the glyph support macros (eg. for the AMS fonts) have already moved
to the core in the 'symbols' section, and the MathML driver takes
care of some problematic math constructs. The typescripts solve the
\boldmath problem etc. etc.

Time frame: hard to say. Currently, I am not working on the math
module, nor on the bib module. Professionally, I am worrying about
XML namespaces and Formatting Objects (these are not related to
math support except for some symbols) and in my free time there
are some completely different things like Omega ...

i will look into it asap (taco, can you send me the most recent m-math?); i
suggest that we strip down the module first

That is great news! (Now, after the bib module is running,
stable math support is the last thing that I need to be able to
switch to ConTeXt completely.) :-)

    Thank you,
    Marco
