Except that with the font selection I did (previously described) it doesn't 
work.  I lose the e and get an upside down caret instead.  Here is
my font selection statement:

\definebodyfont[10pt,12pt,14pt,16pt][rm][tf=pncr8r sa 1, bf=pncb8r sa 1, 
it=pncri8r sa 1, sl=pncro8r sa 1, bs=pncbo8r sa 1, bi=pncbi8r sa 1]

Do you see a problem with my statement?
