Giuseppe has the advantage to be able to read the sources, but not me.
Can you please give a short summary about how the macros you mentioned
can be used. I've tried the interface: 
\defineframed[<name>]
\setupframed[<name>][...]
\<name>{..text..}

but besides \defineframed it is not working.
