does the m-math module still exist? has core-math changed too much for
m-math to catch up, or does a version exist somewhere that works with
the latest release of CONTEXT?

You get those by using \setupbodyfont[ams], you don't need the math module.
Wrt. the math module: please be more precise. *What* errors do you get?
(it is a known fact that it does not like the newer contexts very much)

taco probably has a more recent version. Soon we will finish the math
module on top of the current context math support.

Is this the most recent version available? The file m-math.tex is dated
20000517.
