Referring to the path problem, I went through all kinds of set PATH gyratio= ns=20 and modifications to /etc/profile but with no success. So finally I copied= =20 the two necessary pool files up to /usr/local/tex and ran through the cycle= =20 once again. That worked, but it is obviously a crude kludge and not a corre= ct=20 solution. =20 I will at some point write a list of what I had to do to make the minimal=20 Linux-TeX package work and submit it to Hans as a howto and/or a todo list.= =20 Anyhow it works currently and the infamous hyphenation problem is no more.= =20 =2D-=20 John Culleton
