That does show a fair bit of hyphenation, here. Taco says some wise
things, and here are a couple things to insert at the beginning of your
text that may help debug. (But, again, I'm no expert in this area.)
\the\hyphenpenalty % (50 on my system)
\showhyphenations{hypertextual}
