I would like to know how the "enco-pfr.tex" module works and how to prop= erly use it. Besides of other languages, I also typeset documents in Czech. The searc= h doesn't work (in recent Acrobat 7.0.5) for particular Czech letters (e= .g. =C4=8D,=C5=BE etc.). If I try to search for a simple letter (e.g. "= =C4=8D") it stops on every word containing "=C4=8D", but also "c". If I = try to search for a whole word (e.g. "po=C4=8D=C3=ADta=C4=8D"), nothing = is found. :-) I've followed the instructions posted on http://wiki.contextgarden.net/E= ncodings=5Fand=5FRegimes and in the mailing list thread linked from that= page.=20 So I tried: \input enco-pfr \useencoding[pfr] \startencoding [ec] \usepdffontresource ec \stopencoding \setupbodyfont[lbr]% I have typescripts for Lucida Bright fonts, the Cze= ch is typeset OK \starttext A testing Czech sentence follows: P=C5=99=C3=ADli=C5=A1 =C5=BElu=C5=A5ou=C4=8Dk=C3=BD k=C5=AF=C5=88 =C3=BA= p=C4=9Bl =C4=8F=C3=A1belsk=C3=A9 =C3=B3dy. \stoptext Later I've found out that: - \input enco-pfr=20 is already done in context.tex - \startencoding [ec] \usepdffontresource ec \stopencoding=20 is already done at the bottom of enco-pfr.tex - so it seems that the only command I should issue is: \useencoding[pfr] BTW, in the Czech format (cont-cz.tex), I have defined: \setupencoding[default=3Dec]=20 Doesn't it collide with the \useencoding[pfr] command later in the docum= ent=3F ANY GUESS=3F Note: The ligatures work OK even if I don't use the \useencoding[pfr] co= mmand at all. Thanks to all, Richard ------------peace-on-earth-6733ba675e3829daf11c3bcdc04d152e Content-Type: text/html; charset="utf-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hello Hans, Taco and others!
<= br style=3D"font-family: Verdana;">I would like to know how the "enco-pfr.tex" module works and how to pro= perly use it.
Besides of other languages, I also typeset documen= ts in Czech. The search doesn't work (in recent Acrobat 7.0.5) for parti= cular Czech letters (e.g. =C4=8D,=C5=BE etc.). If I try to search for a = simple letter (e.g. "=C4=8D") it stops on every word containing "=C4=8D"= , but also "c". If I try to search for a whole word (e.g. "po=C4=8D=C3= =ADta=C4=8D"), nothing is found. :-)

I've followed the instructions posted on http://wiki.contextgar= den.net/Encodings=5Fand=5FRegimes and in the mailing list thread linked = from that page.
So I tried:

\input enco-pf=
r
\useencoding[pfr]
\startencoding [ec]
\usepdffontresource e= c
\stopencoding
\setupbodyfont[lbr]% I have typescripts for Lucida= Bright fonts, the Czech is typeset OK
\starttext
A testing Czech = sentence follows:
P=C5=99=C3=ADli=C5=A1 =C5=BElu=C5=A5ou=C4=8Dk=C3=BD= k=C5=AF=C5=88 =C3=BAp=C4=9Bl =C4=8F=C3=A1belsk=C3=A9 =C3=B3dy.
\stop= text

Later I've found out t= hat:
- \input enco-pfr
is already done in context.tex=
- \startencoding [ec] \usepdffontresource ec \stopencoding
is already done at the bottom of enco-pfr.tex
- so it see= ms that the only command I should issue is:
\useencoding[pfr]
BTW, in the Czech format (cont-cz.tex), I have defined:
\setupencod= ing[default=3Dec]
Doesn't it collide with the \useencoding[pfr] comm= and later in the document=3F

ANY GUESS=3F

Note: The lig= atures work OK even if I don't use the \useencoding[pfr] command at all.=

Thanks to all,
Richard
