Use:
\setuptyping
[buffer]
[option=TEX]
This applies globally, though. If that's not desired you can pass
options to the \typebuffer command:
\typebuffer
[a]
[option=TEX]
Passing a previously defined environment is not supported:
%% doesn't work
\typebuffer
[a]
[TeXcode]
