This has been reported before...

BTW, how should cat+Siamese be formatted?

cat 1
  Burmese 1
  obese, see Siamese

or

cat 1
  Burmese 1
  obese, see cat, Siamese


Clearly the second case would be needed for
\seeindex{pet+obese}{cat+Siamese}
with

pet
  obese, see cat, Siamese
