Hi,
since recently had that nice thread about electrons and Hans announced
to rewrite the chemical stuff, I wanted to mention this LaTeX package
for drawing chemical structure diagrams in MetaPost:
https://ctan.org/pkg/mcf2graph
Maybe there’s some usable code?

(I’m not very interested in chemistry and won’t need it. It’s just a
pity that we had this nice module and it doesn’t work any more.)

Hraban

Hello,

The chemical structure package in ConTeXt/MetaPost *was* rewritten and
is fully functional. However, the rewritten documentation did not keep
up with some of the latest development changes and has errors. I have
promised Hans to fix this but have not gotten to it (yet)!

The present package is fully usable: I published a two-volume book that
made heavy use of it.

The ConTeXt package is very graphical-designer oriented and not so
friendly as a chemist might like to use it. That would be a next step.
I will look at the LaTeX package that you show to see how it works and
if there are any good ideas.

Alan

Hi Alan,
I’m sorry, then I misunderstood. But happy to know it’s working and
looking forward to the docs!
