Many other commands like
\expanded (\normalexpanded in ConTeXt)
\protected (\unexpanded in ConTeXt)
\unexpanded (\normalunexpanded in ConTeXt)
have been added since the above mentioned commands where written and we
also have Lua removes more restrictions.
If you still have a problem which require the mentioned command you can
give a simple example where you need it.
