Oh, I grepped wrong.

Now in node-rul.mkxl I have this:

\protected\def\node_rules_direct#1%
   {\groupedcommand
   {\dontleavehmode % this should not be needed but it is in \bTD
      {\node_rules_set{#1}%
      {\relax\barparameter\c!right}}

And it seems to work.
