How about:
\setupheadertexts[\hfill text odd \hfill][\hfill text even\hfill]

\setupheadertexts[oeps]
\noheadersandfooters test \page test
You can influence the distance with the height and distance of the header.
For the moment a better alternative is:
\setupheadertexts[{\framed[....]{some text}}]
