Then the manual must be real bad. \setupsection [sectionlevel-2] [appendixconversion=greek] For chinese we have for instance: \setupsection [sectionlevel-1] [headconversion=chinese] \setupsection [sectionlevel-2] [appendixconversion=] if one uses the section blocks (frontmatter, etc) division, appendices are getting A B C automatically.
