All,

What is the Context way to put an inch of space between the two figures in
this combined list?

\placefigure
 [here][vecadd]
 {Adding vectors geometrically.}
 \startcombination[2*1]
  {\externalfigure[lvsn.1]}{a}
  {\externalfigure[lvsn.2]}{b}
 \stopcombination

Also, what is the Context way to reference part (a) of this figure?

\setupcombinedlist[distance=\onelightyear]

\in{figure}{a}[vecadd]

\startbuffer
\setupcombinations[distance=3em]
\startcombination
  {....}{...}
  {....}{...}
\stopcombination
\stopbuffer

\placefigure
  [here][vecadd]
  {...}
  {\getbuffer}

is a clean way to do it,

Hans
