Hi, 

In case you want to set up specific environments for sections of your doc,
there is (actually already for quite some time): 

\startsectionblockenvironment[frontpart]
  \setupindenting[none]
  \setupwhitespace[big]
\stopsectionblockenvironment

Which means that you can keep your source free of settings.
