Hi,
once again a strage behaviour:
\starttext
\en
"u
\de
"u
\en
"u
\stoptext
gives me
"u ü ü
(quotationmarks u uumlaut uumlaut)
shouldn't this be
"u ü "u??
Viele Gruesse,
Patrick Gundlach

this is a shortcoming of the active character method used non-grouped, \de
invokes language specifics and these make " active so after \en this si
still the ace. You can overload that in \en specifics.
In general, if you want to see "s, say \de \quotation{an "umlaut}
