Follow up: Problem installing context with miktex

Hi,

Finally I just installed Miktex 2.1 and modified texexec.rme and set the appropriate paths and context is working! Thanks to all for your help. I have an additional question: what are context-aware editors that people are using under M$ Windows? Looking in the archive and the net, it seems that some people use emacs and there is a mention to Texwork. Is the latest an editor to use with context or something else? I couldn't find any documentation about its use.

I've been using winedt with latex for several years now. Some quick 
adaptions enabled me to use context quite comfortably, and I'm satisfied 
for now. The project setup, however, is very latex-oriented, and I don't 
know yet if or how it is possible to adjust this. I know a few people using 
emacs, but nobody who is doing context. I didn't have time to look at 
texwork yet, so I can't comment on it. Not really a helpful message, but 
the best I can offer... Just try!

texwork is "work in progress" and is a perl/tk implementation of the system
we use here; it's a kind of integrated environment 

there are winedt env files in the big context zip as well as a vim
highlighting file [simple]; on our site you can find winedt/emacs stuff
from users;

for most cases, it's enough to add processing entries like : 

texexec --pdf --once <filename> 

texexec --pdf <filename>

Yes, that's what I have done, too. Let me clarify the 'project setup'. I 
was referring to possibilities concerning documents split up into several 
files. Winedt has a rather nice feature for this: you set the main file, 
and winedt finds the included files, gathers information about sectioning, 
bib items, references etc. The document structure is displayed graphically 
as a tree, so you can browse it quickly. But it seems that winedt searches 
for specific latex commands like \input{...}, \ref, \label etc. As most 
things in winedt, this can be customized to search for context commands, 
but this will surely be rather time-consuming. If I do it some day, I will 
make the resulting files available, but I don't promise anything... If 
anybody has done it, I would be very interested.

Those env files - I suppose you mean /context/data/conedt.ini and ~.gui? I 
could not try them, because winedt complains about a corrupted 
initialization file if i copy them to winedt.ini and winedt.gui. Maybe its 
a version probelm with winedt, I'm using v.5.2 (Build: 20001213), or are 
they meant to be used in a different way?

they are meant for a 2001 version, but i must admit that i don't use winedt
myself, bad that winedt is not upward compatible in this way.

AFAIK: none besides Emacs
Simply use an editor with TeX mode (LaTeX users often like WinEdt).
Texworks is Hans' private tool (AFAIR on DOS).
If you work with Tcl/Tk you could adapt the LaTeX mode of Alpha/Tk.
(I would be glad if someone would do it!)
