Hi Idris,
I open a terminal window and type
scite
as follows (incl. terminal window output messages):
Setting "/opt/context/tex" as TEXROOT.
alan@home:/opt/context/tex$ scite
then SciTE launches but not in the way I expected.

Uh ? What are these scripts ?
