Hi Idris,

I open a terminal window and type

scite

as follows (incl. terminal window output messages):

Setting "/opt/context/tex" as TEXROOT.
alan@home:/opt/context/tex$ scite

then SciTE launches but not in the way I expected.

Not presently on linux etc. but did you use the cscite script to launch
scite or the setuptex script?
