Brilliant, 

Last week I experimented with something along the same line but with a
different purpose: automatically translating the underlying source into
english, but your solution is as compact as can be! (I don't understand
all the perl in it yet.)

I just extended context to spit out two files with keywords at fmt
generation time, so my question is: can you read those files? (I'll send
them separately.) That way 'tran' always uses the latest lists. If you
add a few lines about the purpose and the author (yourself), I will add
the script to the distribution.
