Hi,

this is still math: using \paragraph{$W$-Word} the $X$-Letters are
significant smaller.

how can I change this?

Inserting a \switchtokorps oss in the argument of \paragraph should
fix this in running text (but breaking the toc). Expect an extension
of context in this area soon.

This doesn't work -- do I miss something?

An alternative is: 

\setuphead
  [paragraph]
  [style={\switchtobodyfont[big]\bf}]   % or point size instead of 'big'

This will not break the toc, because the toc is typeset in the normal
size or otherwise set up with \setuplist. 

Keep in mind that the \{tf,bf,sl,bi,bs,it}{a,b,c,d,..} commands are
mainly meant for text. Math support will be available soon, but first
some speed penalty issues have to be sorted out.

(1) say \setupbodyfont[cmx] at the top of your file (in the next release
I'll preload these by default

(2) say \setuphead[chapter][style={\switchto..[14.4pt]}]

and things will work ok. 

You can predefine a funny size by saying for example 

\setupbodyfont[32pt]

after that you can use that size. This is new (and under testing).
