Every commands that takes a 'background' can have a (stack) of overlays.
Overlays themselves are defined by \defineoverlay.
\defineoverlay[myoverlay][all kind of tex things]
\setsomethingup[background=myoverlay]
When more overlays are defined (or color is also used):
\setupsomething[background={color,myoverlay,hisoverlay,heroverlay}]
When the overlay code is executed, one can use the macros \overlaywidth,
\overlayheight, \overlaycolor.
