Active >127 characters are now classified as 'regimes', a sort of mix between encodings and mappings. Normally one will not notice this, but it was needed for unicode support (i.e. chinese, which is now present in the beta). Let's see if the german ss now comes out ok. If not, we need some test file in windows encoding.
