Subject: Autocut of long headertext [chapter]

Hi
I have several long chapters which are too long for the header I use
[booktitle][chapter] but some items are simply too long.
Besides the fact that a handmade header cropping is better (similar to
\bookmark{}) I'd like to have a "autocrop". That is the text is cut off
at after the last word which fits (and either '' or '...' is inserted).
For the better handmade solution: Is there a better command than
\setupheadertext[foo][my abbr. chapter title]?
Tobias
