Hi,

I'm trying to achieve the following effect:
   +---------------+--------------------------+
   | Class Mod | Race Mod |
   +---------------+--------------------------+
   | Fighter +3 | Elf/Half-elf +1 |
   | Rogue +3 | Dwarf/Gnome/Halfling +2 |
   | Mage +4 | Orc/Half-orc -1 |
   | Cleric +5 +--------------------------+
   +---------------+

What I basically need is a way to let a horizontal rule span only
a limited range of columns.

Salve Giuseppe, hi all

Have a look at:
http://www.pragma-ade.com/general/uptodate/up-008-s.pdf

For your table, have a look at the attachement (878 byte)

Ciao,

Tobias

Hm. I hoped for a way not to resort to bTABLE ... eTABLE. Since
\TaBlE allows "partial" hlines, I thought that \starttalbe
...\stoptable could achieve the same result.

In bTABLE you can control the lines, since each cell [or row/column] can
have framed's characteristics [which included turning on/of the four rules]
