Hi Hans, Hi all,

i try to convert from ec to texnansi.
Therefore i have to generate all the tfm´s.
My problem is, that the capitalized tfm´s doesn´t show
small caps.
i used:
 texfont --install --makepath --vendor=urw --collection=palatino --caps=0.8 uplr8a
and tested with:
\showfont[texnansi-uplr8a-capitalized-800]
(slant works fine)

hm, what happens if you run that one with --virtual?

texfont works fine with --virtual.
but this option is not shown by texfont --help
(last beta).

I know, i ganbles we could do without virtual, so it seems like caps needs 
them so probably slanted and extensed also needs them. Have to test it [or 
you may do that for me]

then i'll update the in that case outdated manual -)

slant and extend work fine for me without virtual fonts in any combination.
(in texnansi encoding, ec encoding ever needs virtual fonts)

so, what should we do: default to always virtual in order to be safe? Maybe 
that's the best
