Does your result differ from mine here? 
The endpoints on the line suggest it was fully drawn and thus metapost behaves correctly.
This was with ConTeXt  ver: 2011.10.14 22:47 MKIV  fmt: 2011.10.19  int: english/english on a Macintosh.
