Someone please give me a heads up....on the below

\definieerpapierformaat
  [CONTEXT]
  [hoogte=27cm,
   breedte=36cm]

\stelpapierformaatin
  [CONTEXT]
  [CONTEXT]

This gives a document size of ( 14.17 x 6.3 in )

The 6.3in is the problem, it is not a full page

If you are able to get a full page, please send me the test code...

Thanks

        C:\Documents and Settings\s0167070\Desktop\grid>mptopdf.pl grid.mp

         TeXExec 5.4.3 - ConTeXt / PRAGMA ADE 1997-2005

        unknown file type: texmfscripts
                      metapost : grid
                      format : metafun
        (grid.mp [1]
        metafun 2005-6-13 14:28
         )
        1 output file written: grid.1
        Transcript written on grid.log.

        total run time : 0 seconds
        -fmt=mptopdf: unknown option

        MPtoPDF 1.3 : grid is converted to grid-1.pdf

Any suggestions what goes wrong?

Thanks Wolfgang

Apparently it takes some time for my suggestion to get through to the
mailing list, so I send you a direct answer:

Isn't it easier to use arctime and the specify A and B as lengths
instead of points? For example:

  A := 1cm;
  B := 1cm;
  draw subpath (arctime A of c, arctime (arclength c) - B of c) of c;

The code is not tested.

Hello!

Whilst preparing some slides for DANTE I got the same
or a similar problem like Patrick...

- texexec tries to run mpost (no error, but apparently no effect)
- a myjob-mpgraph.mp is created
- if I run 'mpost -progname=mpost -mem=metafun myjob-mpgraph',
  as it texexec does, a myjob-mpgraph.1 is created.

  But this way I only get the last metapost graphic of the job,
and that's a bit few for several flowcharts and the presentation styles.

- cont-sys.tex seems to be ok (the '\let\initializeMPgraphics\empty'
  hack has no effect)
- surely no PATH problem
- I rebuilt the formats and didn't forget texhash (mktexlsr)
- my pdfTeX is V.14g, ConTeXt the last week's beta

a part of the log:

---
layout         : calculating backgrounds
\openout2 = `mpgraph.mp'.

Randomizer initialized to 1575252551.
figures : figure mpgraph can not be found
interaction    : pdftex code inserted

Hello mpost fans,

[appologies for this second submission. I
 just realised I forgot to add the attachments.]

I am having a problem I cannot understand.
Perhaps there's something wrong with my
installation. When I run mpost on attached
tmp.mp I get attached tmp.0.

I would have expected the letter $x$ to be
positioned at (1cm,0) but instead it is
positioned at (0,0). I've use boxes many
times but thins I cannot understand. Am I
doing something terribly wrong? Am I
overlooking something?  Any other suggestions?

[-- Attachment #1: Type: text/plain, Size: 829 bytes --]

Hi again,

For a long time I have noticed that certain parts
of text are not treated by metapost as being part
of the picture. I have attached an example, where a
part of the letter ``y'' of the word ``pointsGalway''
at the right of the picture falls outside the picture.
If I decrease the width of the boxes ate the right
the results gets even worse. BTW: The picture was
created using plain metapost. No ConTeXt was involved.

I used to put boxes around pictures to make metapost
aware of the fact that the actual size of the picture
is bigger. Is there a better way to do this?

As usual, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Marc van Dongen
