that message is an indication that you didn't define it as bodyfont

for instance:

   \definetypeface[johanna][rm][serif][palatino][default]

will provide

   \setupbodyfont[johanna,10pt,rm]

the combination [serif] [palatino] is the main typescript filter, while [rm] is 
what it gets mapped onto; [default] concerns the size
