Sounds like a familiar bug. Please try this (and let me
know if it works or not):

   \usemodule[bib]
   %
   % next 3 lines hopefully fix a bug
   %
   \let\bibdoif          \doifnotemptyvalue
   \let\bibdoifnot       \doifemptyvalue
